You need to think a bit laterally now.
Try and unhinge your mind from the standard seed keyword mentality.
You know … like plugging keywords like lose weight and/or weight loss into your favorite keyword tool.
Dumb. Stupid.
Not the best approach … unless you’re happy to get the same competitive results as 99% of niche market researchers.
Here’s the underground way to discover untaped niche/keyword opportunities…
Google has a secret (aka — largely unknown) set of advanced search operators. Wildcards. This is powerful! Here’s how it works..
Type this into Google: "how to lose * fat"
http://www.google.com/search?q=%22how+to+lose+*+fat%22
Notice the star (*) in the search query. That’s the wildcard. The joker. The anything goes placeholder.
Now skim the SERPs and look for the gold.
Here are some of the interesting results I found:
There’s some great niches there.
Stuff I would have never of thought of myself.
how to lose leg fat
how to lose armpit fat
how to lose face fat
Wow! Just think of the search intent behind those searches.
What’s going through their minds? What pain are they feeling? Meet them in that conversation. Empathize with them.
Offer a solution. You’ll make sales — guaranteed.
Be creative using the search wildcard operator and you can discover some real diamonds.
